Arundel Living Campus Kick-Off Work Day

Join Arundel PTA and Each Green Corner on Dec 14th to kick off the Arundel Living Campus project! Two available shifts are 9am-11am, and 11am-1pm - feel free to sign up for one or both. All volunteers must be registered with Each Green Corner prior to the event, and have completed the volunteer waiver form provided after registrating to volunteer.  Contact volunteer@eachgreencorner.org with any questions.

We'll be working rain or shine - just bring a pair of work/gardening gloves!

The Living Campus project aims to infuse sustainable urban agriculture and native landscapes throughout campus to create outdoor learning spaces. Over the course of the project, we will be:

• creating a dedicated outdoor classroom on the lower playground;
• revitalizing and expanding the Native Pollinator Garden;
• mulching and planting native plants to address slope erosion, fire readiness, and drought tolerance; 
• planting the MUR Herb & Citrus garden;
• expanding the Kindness rock garden;
• installing additional gardening spaces with irrigation throughout campus (e.g. raised beds for each interested classroom, herb & strawberry towers, container fruit trees);
• and planting a Friendship Orchard on the upper playground.

This project supports and enhances STEAM, social-justice and environmental stewardship curriculum.  Produce harvested from Arundel gardens will be donated to combat hunger in our community.

Registration closes at 9am on Thursday, 12/12.
