H.S. Regular Garden Care - Morning Handwatering

It's going to be a heatwave! 

• We need one volunteer (or volunteers from the same household) to handwater in the morning before the heat really sets in.
• Thoroughly handwater all EGC garden plants by making two rounds, watering each plant at least 15 seconds per round.  

Please see the guidelines below for work events, such as this, at a Residential Garden Steward site as well as for events during the COVID-19 pandemic.

For all events at Residential Garden Steward sites, please observe the following rules:

• If you will be entering a backyard, please knock at the front door to let the Garden Steward know you will be working.

• Never enter a Garden Steward’s house during an EGC event, even if they invite you.  EGC risk management policies prohibit volunteers from entering private homes.  This includes for use of restroom facilities - if you need to use a restroom during your shift, please go to a public facility. 

• You may accept non-alcoholic refreshments from Garden Stewards if they offer, but please do not request refreshments.  No alcohol should be consumed during EGC work events.

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we ask that all volunteers observe the following guidelines:

• All volunteers - including children - must wear masks and gloves at all times.  Please bring your own mask, work gloves and water bottle. 

• To assure compliance with social-distancing and sanitation requirements, all volunteers for this event must be able to comply at all times with social-distancing and mask requirements.

• If you have experienced ANY symptoms of illness in the last 14 days, or if you have had contact with anyone experiencing these symptoms within the last 14 days, please do NOT attend any EGC work event.  Symptoms include, but are not limited to, chills, fever, fatigue, sore throat, muscle soreness, loss of sense of smell, vomiting, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and/or coughing.

• Restrooms WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE during this event.
