Portola Living Campus Installation Weekend - CANCELED

EVENT CANCELED AND WILL BE RESCHEDULED LATER THIS FALL

Come help install a new Living Campus outdoor classroom and garden at Portola Elementary school. This is the second of two installation weekends. Each day, there will be one shift from 9am to noon and another shift from 1pm to 4pm. Please register for the shift that works best for you. Don't forget to bring a water bottle, a mask, and gloves if you have them! 

Tasks will include: 

• Mulching pathways and laying flag stone

• Installing trellis archways

• Arranging tree stumps and logs for informal seating areas

• Building raised beds 

• Installing an irrigation system

• Lots and lots of planting!!

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers must observe the following guidelines:

• All volunteers - including children - must wear masks at all times.  Please bring your own masks, gloves, and water bottles.

• To assure compliance with social-distancing and sanitation requirements, all volunteers for this event must be able to comply at all times with social-distancing and mask requirements.

• If you have experienced ANY symptoms of illness in the last 14 days, or if you have had contact with anyone experiencing these symptoms within the last 14 days, please do NOT attend any EGC work event.  Symptoms include, but are not limited to, chills, fever, fatigue, sore throat, muscle soreness, loss of sense of smell, vomiting, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and/or coughing.

• If within the last 14 days you have come into close contact with anyone who has since tested positive for COVID-19, please do NOT attend any EGC work event prior to obtaining two negative COVID-19 tests spaced two days apart.

• Restrooms WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE during this event.
