Portola Living Campus Installation Workday

Description
Come help us finish the installation of our Living Campus garden at Portola Elementary! We will start at 9 a.m. and work until our tasks are complete (estimated 1:30 p.m.). We will break at 12 p.m. for lunch. We will be providing pizza! Our Living Campus workdays have tasks appropriate for registered volunteers age 5 and up. See below for COVID protocols. Wear sturdy shoes and clothes that can get very dirty. Bring a reusable water bottle and work gloves if you have any.
Restrooms will be available on-site during this event.
Pizza, snacks, and drinks will be served!
Tasks may include:

Construction of 10 raised garden beds;

Planting trees, shrubs, and vegetables;

Paint trucks of trees;
-
Mulching, sheet mulching, and/or other ground preparation;

Trash cleanup, and/or
-
Other special tasks to help grow our Living Campus and further EGC’s mission!

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, volunteers must observe the following guidelines:

Please bring your own gloves and water bottles.

If you are currently experiencing symptoms of illness, please do NOT attend any EGC work event. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, congestion, chills, fever, fatigue, sore throat, muscle soreness, loss of sense of smell, vomiting, abdominal pain, shortness of breath, and/or coughing.

If within the last 14 days you have come into close contact with anyone who has since tested positive for COVID-19, please do NOT attend any EGC work event prior to obtaining a negative COVID-19 test taken five days or more after exposure.
